Patient Overview

  • Patient: Ksenia

  • Age: 33 years old

  • Gender: Female

  • Procedures: Breast lift (mastopexy) with implant augmentation

  • After photos taken at: 15 days post-surgery

Case Description

Ksenia underwent mastopexy-augmentation at our clinic in Istanbul and her photographs were taken at 15 days — a stage that falls between Nina's five-day documentation and Collette's 11-week result. At 15 days, the most acute phase of healing is over but the settling process is just getting started. This makes Ksenia's case a valuable bridge in our breast lift with implants timeline, showing the moment when the breast begins its transition from early postoperative appearance toward its final shape.

At 33, Ksenia's breasts had lost their projection and upper pole fullness, with the nipple position having migrated below the inframammary fold. She wanted breasts that looked full, lifted, and proportionate to her frame — a result that required both the repositioning of a lift and the volume restoration of an implant.

What 15 Days Looks Like: The Transition Phase

At five days, as we showed with Nina, the breasts appear high, tight, and boxy. At 11 weeks, as Collette demonstrated, the result is soft, settled, and natural. Ksenia at 15 days sits right where you would expect — clearly past the immediate postoperative appearance but not yet at the relaxed, natural shape.

The implants have begun their descent but have not completed it. Compared to a day-five result, they sit noticeably lower on the chest — the pectoralis muscle and skin envelope have started to relax, allowing the implant to migrate downward. But compared to an 11-week result, they are still higher than their final position. The upper pole still carries more fullness than it will at the settled stage.

The lower pole is beginning to fill out. This is the most encouraging visible change at 15 days — the area below the nipple is gaining projection as the implant descends into this space. At day five, the lower pole appears relatively flat because the implant has not yet reached it. At 15 days, the early curve of the lower pole is emerging. By three months, it will be fully rounded.

The overall breast softness has improved substantially from the first week. The firm, compressed feeling that characterizes the early days has given way to tissue that moves more naturally and feels less taut. Ksenia described the difference between week one and week two as going from "wearing armour" to "feeling like something is actually part of my body." This language captures the transition accurately — the breast is beginning to integrate into the patient's physical awareness rather than feeling like a foreign addition.

The 15-Day Scar Appearance

At two weeks, mastopexy scars are in their most visually prominent phase. The incision lines — around the areola, vertically down the lower pole, and along the inframammary fold if present — are pink, slightly raised, and clearly visible. Sutures may still be in place or may have recently been removed. The skin immediately adjacent to the incision may appear slightly puckered or gathered.

This is the peak of scar visibility, and it improves steadily from this point forward. The pink color will fade gradually over the next several months. The raised texture will flatten. Any puckering along the incision line will smooth out as the tissue relaxes and the scar matures. By 12 months, the scars will be thin, pale lines that blend with the surrounding skin.

For patients at two weeks who are looking at their scars and feeling concerned about their prominence — this is entirely normal and does not predict the final scar appearance. The scar at two weeks and the scar at one year bear very little resemblance to each other.

Physical Milestones at 15 Days

Two weeks marks several practical milestones that patients look forward to. Most surgeons remove any remaining sutures between days 10 and 14, which feels like a tangible step forward in the recovery. The surgical support bra is still worn continuously, but it feels less restrictive than it did in the first week as the tissues have softened underneath it. Sleeping is becoming more comfortable — most patients can find a tolerable position without the stacking of multiple pillows that the first week requires.

Daily activities are essentially normal at this point. Walking, light housework, desk work, and driving are all comfortable. Upper body movements are still somewhat guarded — reaching overhead, lifting heavy objects, and any vigorous arm movement are restricted to protect the implant pocket and the lift closure. Exercise remains off-limits for another three to four weeks.

For international patients, 15 days is a common departure point. The in-person follow-up is complete, the surgeon has confirmed that healing is progressing normally, and the patient is independent enough to manage the remainder of her recovery at home with remote follow-up via video consultation.

Surgeon's Note

Ksenia's 15-day result adds the middle chapter to our mastopexy-augmentation timeline. With Nina at day five, Ksenia at 15 days, and Collette at 11 weeks, prospective patients can now follow the settling process across three distinct stages and see for themselves how dramatically the breast shape evolves without any additional intervention.

At 33, Ksenia's tissue is responding exactly as expected. The implant descent is proceeding on schedule, the lower pole is beginning to develop its curve, and the tissue softening is well underway. Her skin elasticity is excellent, which I expect will produce a particularly natural final shape as the settling completes over the coming months.

What I want prospective patients to take from Ksenia's case is the concept of trajectory. At 15 days, the breast does not yet look like the result on our website's showcase photographs — and it is not supposed to. It looks like a breast that is exactly two weeks into a three-month transformation. Trusting that trajectory, rather than judging the in-progress appearance, is what separates a confident recovery from an anxious one.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the biggest visible change between day 5 and day 15 after a breast lift with implants?

The most noticeable change is the beginning of implant descent. At day five, the implants sit high on the chest with minimal lower pole projection. By day 15, they have begun to settle downward, and the lower pole is starting to fill out with a visible curve. The breast also feels noticeably softer and less compressed. The overall shape is still evolving but has clearly moved away from the tight, boxy day-five appearance.

When can I travel home after breast lift with implants in Istanbul?

Most international patients travel home between 10 and 15 days after surgery. By this point, sutures have been removed, the surgeon has confirmed normal healing in person, and the patient is managing daily activities independently. A final check-up before departure establishes the baseline for remote follow-up. Video consultations continue after the patient returns home, typically at the one-month, two-month, and three-month marks.

Is it normal for the two breasts to look different at 15 days?

Yes. Asymmetric swelling during recovery is common and does not reflect the final result. One breast may appear slightly more swollen, slightly higher, or slightly firmer than the other. These differences typically equalize by four to six weeks as swelling resolves evenly. The true bilateral comparison becomes reliable at approximately three months.

How long should I wear the support bra after mastopexy-augmentation?

Most surgeons recommend continuous wear of a surgical support bra for four to six weeks, followed by a transition to a well-fitted sports bra for an additional two to four weeks. The support bra holds the implants in position during the critical early settling phase and supports the lift closure while it heals. Switching to an underwired bra too early can displace the implant or put pressure on healing scar lines. Wire-free support for the first three months is the safest approach.
